We received some feedback from a guest today and we’d like to share it.
Because we think it illustrates one of the many benefits in choosing a Homestay over a Hotel:
Many of my friends and family are very impressed with the homestay idea and my stories, and if and when they wish to visit India will hopefully contact you.
I found Major Chandrakant Singh of Kotla Homestay in Delhi so extremely helpful and his wife so charming. He showed us the real Delhi which my friend Peter (originally from Kolcatta) and his wife Louise did not see or were not shown around by their posh tour company when they visited Delhi and the so called golden triangle last year.
Chandra is also an excellent guide and very knowlegible not only about Indian history dating back to the Moguls and the British Raj but on world affairs as well – what an excellent start to a visit to India.
Kind regards, Ismail
This is typical of what our guests find when they choose to stay in a real Indian home.
Their hosts are full of fascinating local knowledge, history and tips. They ensure visitors get a real feel for the area, rather than a processed package experience of sterile hotels and conveyor belt sightseeing. The experience you get from a Homestay is rich – it brings your trip to life.
Homestays are run by real Indian people – here’s a picture of Major Chandra outside of his proud home:
