Competitions, Featured

Our popular Photo of the Month contest is now open for July. While the contest is mainly for fun and inspiration, there is a prize for the chosen winner!

This month our theme is the colour green – from lush green landscapes, bright green birds to fresh green market produce!

This month we are celebrating the monsoon season, and our destination of the month is the hill station of Wayanad where the monsoon rains revive the lush green landscape and show it off at it’s very best. With this in mind our theme this month is the colour green.

  • Lush green landscapes, the monsoon season is the perfect time to capture these!
  • Green wildlife shots, bright green birds to lazy lizards
  • Fresh green market produce
  • Colourful green clothing providing a splash of colour to temples and famous buildings.

Make sure you caption your photo to let us know where in India it was taken!

You can enter in four ways

Supply your image and a brief description of where the photo was taken in one of the following ways:

On Facebook: Just post your image to the wall as usual

On Flickr: Add your image to the Photo of the Month group

On Twitter: Tweet the image and include our Twitter name @indianhomestays

On the Blog: Leave us a comment below with a link to the image that you would like to enter.

You can enter more than once – you may submit up to 5 images if you wish. You may also re-enter an image you have submitted for a previous competition if you feel that it fits the theme, as long as it has not been previously short listed.

The deadline for entries is 24 July 2011. Good luck everyone – and thanks for taking part.

How the competition works

After the submission deadline passes we will put up a shortlist of our favourite entries – with links to their owners – and asking our blog readers to pick a winner.

We block repeat voting from the same user to keep it fair. To find out more about how we do this please get in touch.

All copyright remains with the photographer. By entering the competition, you grant Mahindra Homestays the non-exclusive right to display your entered image on our blog in conjunction with the competition only with full credit and a link back to your own site. Entering your picture into this competition indicates that you have accepted these conditions.

    Hi Mihir

Your entries were received safely thanks. We get a lot of comments through the blog and sometimes it takes a couple of days before they are approved which is why you weren’t able to see them right away.

    Good luck in the contest!
